Rustic Wedding Photography: Louise & James's Wedding Day at The Lodge Inn, Battlesbridge

Oh my, do I have a beautiful wedding to share with you today! I was extra excited for this one because it was the very first wedding I got to capture in 2018. I was quite honored when I was initially asked to help document Louise and James's wedding day. Even though the unpredictable British weather decided to make an appearance, we still managed to capture the most beautiful, heartfelt photographs of the beautiful bride and groom.

Documenting the Narrative: From Groom Prep to the Party

As a Wedding Photographer London and Essex, my aim is always to tell the complete story of the day, starting from the calm anticipation and ending with the celebratory dance floor.

  • Morning Preparations: We began the wedding day at James’s family home, photographing the groom preparation details, along with his family, ushers, and the ring bearer. These quiet moments of bonding and preparation set a fantastic tone for the rest of the day.
  • Venue Details: We then took off to the stunning venue at The Lodge Inn. I love capturing every single thoughtfully organized detail—the table setups, the florals, and the signage—as they represent the couple's invested time and personality.
  • The Emotion: The ceremony was absolutely breathtaking, full of genuine emotion. Speeches afterwards warmly touched the guests' and families' souls. It was quite apparent that this bride and groom were dearly loved. Capturing the authentic love, laughter, and sometimes tears is the core of our documentary style.

The Lodge Inn: Capturing Rustic Charm in Battlesbridge

The wedding venue was held at the ever-so-rustic Lodge Inn in Battlesbridge, Essex. This venue is perfect for couples seeking a charming, warm, and intimate setting.

The rustic aesthetic of The Lodge Inn—from the wooden beams to the cozy lighting—provided a beautiful backdrop for Louise and James's celebration. We maximised the natural light available despite the weather, ensuring the images retained a soft, warm feel that perfectly complemented the rustic charm. The rain often leads to incredibly dramatic and romantic photographs, which we fully embraced!

After the ceremony, wine and drinks were served, and the party began! The joy, the dancing, and the celebration provided a wonderful end to a stunning day.
