Gothic Country Romance at Ye Olde Plough House
Arijeta & Chris
Every now and then, a wedding comes along that completely redefines traditional style! And as a documentary wedding photographer, those are the days I live for. When my gorgeous sister-in-law Arijeta married Chris (the new Mr. & Mrs. Wildig!) at the iconic Ye Olde Plough House in Bulphan, our family gathered for a day filled with love, individuality, and unmistakable style.
Arijeta and Chris brought a breathtaking blend of personal aesthetic to their day, fusing a love for American country culture, vintage rockabilly flair, and moody gothic romance into an intimate, high-fashion celebration.
High Fashion, Tattoos & Alternative Western Style
Arijeta and Chris proved that breaking away from traditional wedding fashion can yield showstopping results. Arijeta was breathtaking in a chic, high-low white bridal mini dress featuring a dramatic oversized bow on the back, perfectly showing off her striking tattoos and dark red lipstick.
Chris matched her bold energy, wearing a custom cowboy boot and bowling black embroidered button-up over a crisp white tank, bringing a sharp, western country edge to the day. Standing together beneath the rustic stone arches at Ye Olde Plough House, the contrast of their dark, tailored aesthetic against the venue’s historic stone and lush green grounds was pure visual magic!
Moody Portraits & Intimate Moments in Bulphan
Ye Olde Plough House offered the perfect canvas for their alternative celebration. We took full advantage of the venue's striking architectural features and gardens. From the rustic stone arches and iron railings to the moody, shaded garden nooks and waterfall features.
Because I was capturing family, the atmosphere was completely relaxed. We focused on candid, editorial-style portraits that felt authentic to them: quiet glances framed by the stone arches, joyful embrace shots by the water, and bold black & white images that highlighted their deep romance as well as style.
Personal Details & A Rock-and-Roll Reception
Inside the reception space, personalised details added a unique mark to their day. From the custom Mr. & Mrs. Wildig cake toppers to ornate framed signage and lush greenery, every element balanced gothic elegance with rustic charm. Surrounding their closest family and friends, the atmosphere felt equal parts intimate dinner party and rock & roll celebration.
Photographing Arijeta and Chris was a reminder that your wedding day should be an exact reflection of who you are. Whether you are planning a traditional event or a bold, alternative wedding in Essex, my aim is to capture your story authentically.
