Here at Fatima Photography (a dedicated Baby Photographer in Essex Basildon), I just love how small these tiny beings are when they are first born. I can’t imagine anything sweeter than their tiny little lips, nose, eyelashes, and chubby cheeks. I love my job so much because I not only get to take pictures of these miraculous tiny details but because I get to have cuddles, too!

I most definitely got cuddles from gorgeous Hunter. He was all the above plus a very sleepy little star, which allowed us to capture some incredibly sweet, curled-up shots.

The Art of the Sleepy Session and Safety

Hunter’s sleepy nature was a highlight, allowing us to achieve those beautiful, peaceful poses. Getting a baby to sleep soundly requires a specialized approach in a professional setting:

  • Studio Environment: My Basildon studio is kept at a cozy, consistent temperature to ensure newborns feel warm, secure, and ready for sleep.
  • The Sshh-ing Technique: Every pose is executed slowly and gently, with me using specialized techniques to keep the baby calm. Safety is my number one priority; I use composite imaging for any pose that requires the baby to be unsupported, ensuring a parent's hands are always nearby.
  • Parent Involvement: We also captured beautiful portraits with Hunter in his parents' arms, highlighting the connection and scale of how small he is right now. These shots are just as vital as the posed images, providing a complete story of their new family.
