Pregnancy Photo Shoot: Cathy's Custom Maternity Photography in Basildon, Essex

When Cathy first got in touch with me in regards to a pregnancy photo shoot, things got off to an awesome start! We clicked right away, which is essential for capturing such personal and intimate portraits. I approached her with several ideas regarding poses and styling, and I also encouraged her to let me in on exactly what she had in mind. This collaboration ensures the final photographs are truly reflective of her vision.

Collaboration & Styling: The Soft and Dreamy Aesthetic

The actual session was such a fun experience, filled with love from her and her partner. Happy vibes were bouncing off the walls of our Basildon studio while the latest hits played on the radio!

My artistic goal for her images was to create a soft and dreamy look—bright and full of light to signify the sweetness and anticipation of her bump. We achieved this through professional studio lighting and specialized posing. We used flowing fabrics and clean backdrops to ensure the focus was entirely on the beauty and emotion of the maternity phase.

A significant highlight of Cathy’s Pregnancy Photo Shoot was her request to include her beautiful traditional costume. It was such a great idea to incorporate this traditional outfit, as the fabric, colors, and craftsmanship added an incredible layer of personal history and cultural beauty to her portraits.
